Welcome Rose Quartz and Serenity!

These two soft hues are meant to evoke feelings of balance and tranquility, but given that there are two of them it’s also celebrating a sense of duality.

Let’s start with Rose Quartz.  It’s surprisingly easy to work in to a lot of existing color palettes.

  • Pairs well with soft gray or clean crisp white
  • Perfect for a bedroom, bathroom or even a home office
  • Think small doses of pretty!

As a Designer, color is everything.  Whether it’s a color my client loves, and can set the tone for their whole home; or the color that makes them cringe that we selectively choose to avoid.  And color trends are something we all follow quite closely from what’s going on in the fashion world, to what’s showing up in the display windows of our favorite home stores.  One trend for 2016 is definitely color and lots of it.  So much so, that the Pantone color of the year (for the first time ever) is in fact TWO colors!

Rose Quartz & Serenity are both soft hues meant to evoke feelings of balance and tranquility.

Let’s start with Rose Quartz.  It is undoubtedly the more feminine of the two colors but it’s also surprisingly easy to work in to a lot of existing color palettes.  One of my favorite colors to pair this with is a nice soft gray or a clean crisp white.  If you’re feeling a little bolder you can even try the calming pink on your walls!  You can see in the photo of the bathroom that it pairs beautifully with a Bianco Carrera marble, a feather grey vanity, and pop of white in the freestanding tub.

This likely isn’t a color that you will pull through your entire home, but it is perfect for a bedroom, bathroom or even a home office!  Think small doses of pretty, even if it’s just adding some pale pink flower arrangements on your coffee table.  And voila, your home will be trending in no time!
